I feel so sad and fucked up. What a horrible month it has been so far. Things getting stolen and broken, not having music, mean people badmouthing and making fun of me at work, messed up family issues, feeling particularly down about my body and skin, not knowing where God is, giving myself to a guy and getting nothing in return. The pain and loneliness of it all. It seems I ignore the people that adore me and love the ones who don't. As frustrating as it has been, I find comfort in this pain. I feel secure and safe in this darkness. It is my only company and I welcome it with limp and open arms.

I recently realized how lonely I am in the sense that I feel like no one really loves me. Every time I was abused, who was there to stand up for me? Who has told me that they don't care about my eczema and that I am beautiful just the way I am? I haven't found a boy and I have already accepted the fact that I may never find someone to call mine. I don't know who would love a messed up girl like me. I don't want to burden anyone with my past, present and future.

I don't need anyone. I can do this on my own, and I will die trying to do it on my own.

Discuss your first love and first kiss.

My first kiss was a mistake. I was around 14 or 15 and it was the first time I got drunk. My friend and I met some guys on the beach and I kissed one of them. It was horrible because I don't remember his name or what he looked like. I don't even remember what the kiss was like. I don't remember if I got butterflies in my stomach and I don't remember if he looked like he did too. It is something I regret because girls always dream of what their first kiss will be like and hope it will be amazing. We hope it will be with a boy we really like. We hope that there will be fireworks in the air when it happens and it will just feel right. We hope it will be not too fast, not too slow, not too hard and not too soft. We hope it will be perfect. But, the people I have talked to about this say their first kiss was less than amazing, me included. I think it is because we set up this high expectation of what it will be like and we get disappointed when it is less that what we hoped for.

My first love, on the other hand, has not happened yet. I've never fell head over heels in love with a man before. There have been cases where I have had a 'thing' with a guy but it always ends up in the gutter. There was this one guy who I liked so much. He made me feel like nothing I have ever felt before and I was so close to going out with him. But, in the end, I felt like he used me and left me. He began saying the same things he said to me to other girls, and then come back to me when he got desperate. Right now, I say screw romance. Cupid hates me I'm sure.

A moment you felt the most satisfied with your life.

It was a few years ago my friend Kate and I were running this mission organisation group called Hope99. It was a group aimed to help those who are less fortunate than us through the love and courage of God.
At the time, we had been fundraising and speaking about physially and mentally abused children in Thailand. We partnered with a family from New Zealand who were living in Thailand and were taking in these children and driving around the red light district to save those who were vulnerable to rapists and such.
For Kate and I, it was a long and rocky road. We had to learn how to trust God, really trust Him, and give it all to Him even though we wanted to take control for ourselves. At times, we had conflict with each other and with the people we were working with. At times, we forgot to pray. At times, hardly anyone turned up to our fundraisers and our expectations were not met. At times, plans failed. At times, we worried so much we took the reins from God. But there were also memorable moments too.
Because Kate and I were 16 at the time, we stuffed up public speaking alot and we had to learn things the hard way. Looking back now, it was actually quite funny. We had amazing people excited about Hope99 as much as we were, and we got so much support and encouragement. We had great turnouts sometimes. We raised more than we expected sometimes. We felt God was behind us, and we felt strong. It felt weird but wonderful to live for something other than myself.
One day, after our last fundraiser, I got a call from my pastor. He told me that the church raised $7000 from the self-denial appeal fundraiser. Combined with the money raised from previous fundraisers, it was a total of $10,000. Needless to say, I was stoked. The happiest I have been in my life. That night at church I couldn't stop laughing and crying. I thought that all the hard work and prayer had really paid off and now the family in Thailand can take a significant step forward in their work. It is this time in my life I was the most satisfied because it was when we helped a cause greater than ourselves, we somehow aided the work to save children who were vulnerable to abuse, and we both took leaps in our relationship with God and as a person. A moment and time in my life I will never forget.

This is one my best guy mates Jack. I just feel like telling you all how much he means to me.

Back then we used to talk everyday about nothing and everything. We made plans about moving in together and we would go out to town every weekend just to get drunk and walk around town doing whatever we wanted to do. We went to gay bars, climbed up to rooftops and watched the world below us, laugh at construction workers, roll down vertical hills drunk, go to indie gigs and lit millions of smokes while doing everything. Whatever we do, wherever we go, it’s okay because he’s there. He came to my house once and all we did was watch The O.C, laugh at perverts on Omegle, take pictures and eat pizza. He will hate me for this but he wore my bra too. Well, I made him do it. And I have proof.

He is the type of person who will love you for whoever you are. He won’t judge you and will still love you even if you are considered a freak and loser in society. His eyes look right past that into who you are as a person. I don’t know one person who doesn’t like him. He’s a great listener and can brighten your day up just by saying a mere few words. His hugs are the best. I love it when he picks me up off the ground and spins me around. He is a brilliant guitarist and sometimes he’d send little demos to me to listen to. I love that he tells me things because I love hearing what he has to say. He is so unpredictable and crazy. Once, he went into a busy McDonaldswith just a velvet robe on. I love that he doesn’t know how wonderful he is. He doesn’t realise it and it drives me crazy.

Last Summer, he went to London, I went to China, and from then on things changed. He has moved to town now and studies fashion at Whitcliffe. I am still living at home and working full time at a cafe. I miss him so much. He doesn’t realise this but I get so down that he is not living 5 minutes away, that is not there on msn to chat to all day, that when I go town it is without him. Although things aren’t what they used to be and I don’t see him often, he still and will forever play a huge part in my life. I will never forget the unforgettable nights and moments with him. He has this strange power to make me feel amazing and beautiful just by his presence. This is Jack.

I like to think I am diplomatic and urbane in the way I am sensitive when dealing with others and I try my best to be polite to people. I like being sociable, meeting and having conversations with people. I love joking and playing around. I am idealistic in the sense that I try to pursue what is considered good purposes and goals. I am definitely peaceable! I hate drama and try to avoid it and keep it from happening at all times. So, all in all, I guess I would say that most of it fits my personality, but some are definitely not my major traits I would say.

I am indecisive- I hate making choices and I usually overthink the options I have and get stuck in the middle in the end. I wouldn't say I am easily changeble or easily influenced though. Even though I suck at being strong on my beliefs sometimes, I don't change them just like that because of outside influence. I like to think I have a good head on my shoulders because of God, family and friends who keep me grounded. I don't think I accept whatever is fed to me. I have to process what is being said to me first before I can fully accept it. On that note, I don't trust very easily. I am flirty! But why is this a bad thing? I think if used properly it's somwhat releasing the inner Eve in me. Of course, I don't just go flirty with every boy that comes my way, but if I am attracted to someone I would be. How else would they know I am interested in them? I am somewhat indulgent. I find it hard to give materialistic things up if it is not absoutely neccessary. On the other hand, I understand that these things are temporary and do not matter at all. I think sometimes I forget how blessed I really am.

1. I am Chinese/Vietnamese and was born in Pusan, South Korea in a refugee camp.

2. My name meanings mean a lot to me. My mum gave me a Chinese name 'Chum Heung' which means 'Finding Home' when translated to English. She named me this when she was in the refugee camp, so I guess I being born was a way to really proclaim that in her life. By God's grace, even against the UN's decision that hell would freeze over before we escaped the refugee camp, we came to the promised land of New Zealand when I was 4 months old. Apparantly when I was 5 years old, I named myself Jenny. My good friend told me a while ago that the name meant 'pure white.' It is interesting what my name meanings together mean. In a Christian context, I am being purified by God while I am finding my way home to Heaven. On my 18th birthday, the same friend gave me a bracelet with the words 'Bianco Puro Trovando Casa' engraved on it which means Pure White Finding Home in Italian. This is what I want to get tattooed on me one day with an art peice. I am currently saving up for it now.

3. My favourite foods are avacoado, sushi, curry, roast and mexican. I like foods from different cultures and I love trying out new things.

4. You will most likely find me renting foreign and drama films from the video store. My favourite movies that I have seen on DVD are Amelie, Lords of Dogtown, Factory Girl, Two Days in Paris, Coffee and Cigerettes and La Vie En Rose.

5. When I was younger, I watched a lot of TV because I had one in my room. Now I don't have one, I hardly watch TV anymore. I am too impatient to physically sit down through it all. I will watch my favourite show Friends or The 70's Show sometimes though.

6. I subconciously buy a lot of shoes. I recently cleared out my shoedrobe and now I have about 12 pairs of shoes that I actually wear which was a deacrease from an original 25 pairs.

7. I'm addicted to pictures and photography, particulary those on film; music and live gigs which I always try to go to; tea; travel; and being alone.

8. I have a lot of physical scars everywhere on my body because of my ezcema which I have had since I was a baby. I'm stupid to admit it so openly but I often wonder if I can find a man who will love me anyway and if I can enjoy marriage or sex because of it.

9. I think I have mild OCD. When I was younger I cleaned my bedroom to the point of crazyness. I vacuumed it everyday and when someone stepped into my bedroom I would have to vacuum their foosteps up. I would also make sure my bed wasn't messy either, so if someone lied down on it I would tell them to get off and fix it. I am not so obsessive now!

10. I have insomnia, which is a sympton of mild depression. Ever since I was little I remember staying up into the middle of the night when everyone else was asleep. Nowadays, it gets extreme to the point where I can't sleep for 8 hours until I finally fall asleep at 10am. I'm nocturnal for sure.

11. I hate Glee, Twilight and every other stupid obesession mainstream society has. I don't like Rihanna or Eninem or anything like that. I don't really go to the movies, watch TV, read magazines or listen to radio. Besides, every artist says they are different and have anything but generic to offer, but it's not true. Everything has been done.

12. I dislike people, but I am still friendly nonetheless. I like to go out of my way for them, listen to them and care as much as possible. It is a contradiction but I havn't figured why it is like that just yet.

13. My favourite band will always be Underoath because they have helped me through the darkest times of my life and possibly saved it. Their music was there when nothing else was. I dislike their new album though, which surprised me because it seems like every other Underoth fan loves it.

14. I'm a virgin, and I am proud of that.

15. Nothing really ticks me off, but I really dislike cars that don't indicate and having long nails.

16. My dream is to do nothing but travel when I am older. Whenever I see a plane take off in the sky I can't help but think that that passengers are so lucky and which country they are priviledged to land on next. There are so many cultures, food, costume, people and landscapes to see and so little time. My first destination will be either New York or somewhere in France.

17. I havn't had a boyfriend so I haven't been in love with a boy yet. I want the wait to be worth every ache I have had in my heart for one.

18. I have probably two friends who I completely trust, who I completely love and who I would do anything for without any hesitation. One boy and one girl. Both of whom I have only known for a maximum of 2 and a half years.

19. I can't save at all. I love spending money.

20. I like to joke alot, and if I like you and feel comfortable around you I will be playful, but it there is anything I am serious about it is social justice. I try to support and fight for any good causes and I like telling people about it too.

21. I always have crushes on the wrong person. They always end up liking another person or are a straight meanie. I have to say it is probably karma because I remember not being nice to people who liked me either. I have this thing where I get really grossed out when someone likes me and I try to avoid them and show them that as much as possible.

22. Being married and having a family freaks me out. It's something I don't want when I am older at the moment.

23. I dig skaters, Safas, tattooed, hardcore, strong, passionate or respectful guys.

24. I don't like girls very much and hardly talk or get along with any. I hang out with guys more because, unlike girls, they don't cause drama, are funnier and are much more kick-back and spontaneous. They can also protect you. I find that most girls are backstabbers, cause drama and freak out about a lot of little things.

25. I find overly zealous churches a little scary. The whole thing with falling over and screaming in joy is intimidating to me, especially when all you feel like is worshipping God in peace and quiet. I can see why outsiders can get freaked out.

26. My nine year old sister is my closest friend. She is wiser than her years. She inspires me because she is so generous, loving and funny. You can never get her in a foul mood. I am hard to live with and bear sometimes, but she puts up with it with grace. She is the only person I can't live without.

27. I live in black or dark clothing. People say, have fun, wear colour, but that's just me. It will be once in a blue moon event to find me in a bright colour like red or green.

28. My mum is the strongest person I know. She survived refugee camp, had three children and supported them mostly by herself, created a business out of nothing, brings the money and food home, survived personal hardships and put up with my dad. She thinks about her family and relatives before herself always. She is my father and my mother.

29. I hate alcohol but I still drink it.

30. I love zombie movies and any horrors. I used to hate them (which everyone knew) but now I love them and can watch it by myself.
